Brevard County Fire Rescue is the largest Fire Rescue Service in Brevard County and one of the largest in the State of Florida. Currently BCFR has 535 employed firefighters and support staff, and more than 250 volunteers. These personnel respond to calls for assistance from 31 fire stations throughout Brevard County.

BCFR provides fire rescue dispatch services for all 911 ambulances and fire rescue services in unincorporated Brevard County, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, West Melbourne, Palm Shores, Melbourne Village.

The Fire Rescue Command Staff is the working force for Brevard County Fire Rescue. These individuals work closely with the Fire Chief, Operations Chief, Fire Marshal, and the Chief of Training to effectively help run the day to day operations for BCFR.

Working alongside Brevard County Fire Rescue, are the professional firefighters. The Brevard County Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 2969, are an organized group of District Chiefs, firefighters, inspectors, and dispatchers dedicated to maintaining a high standard of care to the citizens of Brevard County.
