BCFR Recognizes National EMS Week

National EMS Week is May 20-26, 2012.  This year's theme is EMS: More Than A Job.  A Calling.  EMS practitioners don't choose this profession for big salaries, comfortable working conditions or 9-to-5 hours; they have a true calling to help and care for others in their hour of need.  EMS Week brings together communities and medical personnel to publicize safety, educate the public about their local EMS system, and to honor the dedication of those who provide day-to-day lifesaving services on medicine's front line.  Brevard County Fire Rescue would like to recognize and thank our members for providing a "Gold Standard" service to the residents and guests of our community, today and every day.

Brevard County covers an area of 1,018 square miles of land and 539 square miles of water.  Located on the east coast of Florida, Brevard County is home to the Kennedy Space Center, Port Canaveral, and some of the nation's most popular beach destinations.  According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 536,000 people call Brevard County home.

Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) provides fire protection, emergency medical services, technical/specialized rescue, hazardous materials intervention, and ocean rescue services to the citizens and visitors of Brevard County.
