The owners of this house have eight rain barrels!  When all of them are full, they have 440 gallons of clean, fresh water for their landscape and garden.

 

 

“Stormwater 101” Presentations Offered

Elizabeth Melvin of the Brevard County Natural Resources Management Office will outline actions residents can take to minimize stormwater pollution.  She will provide an overview of how stormwater pollution affects water quality, what the water quality standards are required by the Clean Water Act for the Indian River Lagoon and what local governments are doing to improve water quality in the Indian River Lagoon and St. Johns River.

Stormwater Rule Updates

 

The Brevard County Natural Resources Management Office's Watershed Management Program seeks to revise and update the Stormwater Management Criteria to be consistent with current State standards and policies.  Workshops will be held in the near future to gather comments and alternatives to these proposed regulation updates.
