To obtain a contractor license through Brevard County the following steps
must be taken:
- Obtain an application from Brevard County Licensing Regulation &
Enforcement office located at 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Building
A, Room 105, Viera, FL 32940
- or call (321) 633-2058 to have packet mailed to you
- or click on Forms selection on Licensing Regulation & Enforcement
website (If obtaining application from website, it will still be
necessary to obtain testing information and application. This is
available at the Licensing Regulation & Enforcement office.
- Fill out the application for the desired trade.
- Submit the application, application fee, and required documents (as
noted on the application) to the Licensing Regulation & Enforcement
office.
- Brevard County Licensing Regulation & Enforcement will review
the application and all pertinent documents submitted. Upon approval
of the submitted application, Licensing Regulation & Enforcement
will return the Exam Registration Form with the Exam Sponsor Information
filled out.
- Applicant should mail the information and payment for exam to Experior
for scheduling.
- After the applicant has taken the exam, Experior will send Licensing
Regulation & Enforcement your exam results, upon receiving a passing score.
- Licensing Regulation & Enforcement will then send correspondence
to applicant notifying of remaining documents required to complete certification.
- Upon receipt of all remaining documents, Licensing Regulation &
Enforcement will issue Certificate of Competency.
- If the applicant did not receive a passing grade Licensing Regulation
& Enforcement will sponsor the applicant for a retest with a $20.00
administrative fee.
Please Note:
*Contractor certification will include an exam for the trade and a Business
& Law exam.
*Journeyman & Master certification will not require the Business &
Law exam.
