Orlando Dominguez Dear Fellow Neighbors: When a public safety incident occurs, we understand that it may threaten our citizens and our community. The Office of Public Information/Public Education is responsible for accurate dissemination of information to our community and surrounding counties. The public information officer serves as the liaison between the community and the public safety team.
When an emergency scene is unfolding; such as, a residential or commercial structure fire, brush fires, environmental emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, or any other emergency situation the public information officer will work closely with local, national, and international news agencies. This will ensure that our community receives accurate and timely emergency related information. In addition, our goal is to prepare our citizens before an emergency occurs. This office is also committed in providing educational information, to our citizens, regarding fire and medical related issues. Our public education staff is ready to offer fire safety demonstrations, fire extinguisher training, ride-along program, community events, fire station tours, or medical display. This office will continue to work hard, with all media agencies, the community, and other health-care partners to promote and ensure safety within our community.
Orlando Dominguez serves as the Public Information Officer. Orlando has been involved with emergency medical services for over eleven years. He graduated from Brevard Community College with an AA and an AS degree in Emergency Medical Services, and is a graduate of the National-Louis University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Health Care Management.. He is a certified paramedic fire fighter and has a background in broadcasting. He is currently the Public Information Officer for the Department. His role as Public Information Officer, is to serve as the liaison between the department, community and media networks. This includes disseminating information for media release, organizing fire rescue functions, promoting fire and medical safety within the community, and public speaking. He is on a 24 hour response capability and reports directly to the Fire Chief of the department.
Orlando is the host to Brevard County Fire Rescue's video magazine - Inferno. He is also the lead instructor for the department's in-house paramedic program.
