CODE 3

Code 3 is a term commonly used in the Fire Service as a term for "emergency response". Below are some photos of of "emergency responses".

Brevard County Fire Rescue and the Palm Bay Fire Department demonstrated the importance of space heater safety. The Picture illustrates a Christmas Tree on fire, due to a space heater being placed next to the tree. Always remember to place space heaters at least 5 feet away from any combustible material. Also make sure the space heater is U/L approved, the electrical cord is not frayed, turn off the heater prior to going to bed, and never leave space heaters unattended, especially around children.

motor vehicle accident rescue haz mat team
Brevard County Fire Rescue and the Rockledge Fire Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident. One victim in serious condition was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center via the First Flight Helicopter. The other victims escaped with minor injuries. Brevard County Fire Rescue, along with the Melbourne Fire department responded to a fire at a local dry cleaning store. The fire was extinguished quickly, nevertheless, the Brevard County Fire Rescue Haz-Mat team had to suit up and determine if any drums that stored the cleaning solutions had ruptured. The building was evacuated for several hours, but no injuries were reported.

It was an early weekday afternoon when Brevard County Fire Rescue and the Rockledge Fire Department responded to an airplane crash in a residential neighborhood. The airplane had crashed into a residential driveway. Although the airplane crashed several feet from the house and two blocks from an elementary school, had just released the children for the day, no one on the ground suffered injuries. The pilot suffered moderate injuries and was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center via the First Flight Helicopter.
