FIRE PREVENTON WEEKFire Prevention Week is observed in the United States starting on the first Sunday of October. This week long observance was proclamated by President Calvin Coolidge in 1925, and commemorates the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
Fire Prevention Week is designed to help inform the public on fire prevention and promoting fire safety awareness.
Fire Prevention Week is designated by a "theme" from year to year. The theme for 2010 is "...". Fire Departments across
the U.S. use this week to promote fire safety by offering literature, activities, and fire safety demonstrations. Fire Prevention
