EMS Reservists

 

What is an EMS Reservist?
An EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Reservist is a program in which First Responders, EMT's, and Paramedics can volunteer their time to ride with, and respond to emergencies with Brevard County Fire Rescue. EMS Reservists offer an exceptional service to the community and to Brevard County Fire Rescue. Reservist lend their medical talent on a volunteer basis to help citizens in a medical emergency, at the same time, it gives the members of Brevard County Fire Rescue more staff at a cost savings to the taxpayers. Reservists are also used in special details such as medical standby at baseball and football games, various other sporting events, Teen-Fest, rodeos, and other public based functions that require medical assistance.
 
Reservist Requirements:  
  • Florida State certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and/or Paramedic
  • Complete reservist application.
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Pass department required physical and background check.
