Hi and welcome to our C.E.R.T website. Brevard County Fire Rescue is proud to offer CERT training to the local community which we believe is an invaluable program that benefits not only the professional responders, but the local community as well.

What is C.E.R.T.?
The CERT program was designed to train local citizens for disaster related incidents involving basic response skills such as fires, search & rescue, and medical response. CERT members are able to assist local neighbors, their workplace, and professional responders before, during, and after natural disaster related events.

Major emergencies can overwhelm a community when it comes to disaster assistance. This is where CERT members come into play. CERT members are able to render immediate assistance to the professional responders which is vitaly important to overcome major disasters.

The CERT course taught by professional first responders and usually classes are held weekly in 2 1/2 hour sessions.

CERT members may also play a role in the distribution of smoke detectors, assist with evacuations, special events, and training events.
