Three Firefighter-paramedics promoted to Lieutenant

Please join Brevard County Fire Rescue in congratulating it's newest officers, Lieutenant Nathan Duval, Lieutenant Tom Klein, and Lieutenant Richard Woodling.

The three officers were sworn in by Brevard County Fire Chief Larry Collins. Family members of the newly promoted Lieutenant’s were on hand to witness and participate in the ceremony, along with Command and administrative staff members in observance.

The department is very proud of their accomplishment!

Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) is the largest Fire Rescue Service in Brevard County and one of the largest in the State of Florida. Currently BCFR has 535 employed firefighters and support staff, and more than 250 volunteers. These personnel respond to calls for assistance from 31 fire stations throughout Brevard County.

Brevard County Fire Rescue is comprised of three sections, all under the direct supervision of the Fire Chief. Each division works closely together to provide the desired level of service to the citizens of Brevard County.

BCFR provides fire rescue dispatch services for all 911 ambulances and fire rescue services in unincorporated Brevard County, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, West Melbourne, Palm Shores, Melbourne Village.

Command Staff
The Fire Rescue Command Staff is the working force for Brevard County Fire Rescue. These individuals work closely with the Fire Chief, Operations Chief, Fire Marshal, and the Chief of Training to effectively help run the day to day operations for BCFR.

Brevard County Fire Rescue Annual Awards Program
In March 1999, Brevard County Fire Rescue began an Annual Awards Program to commendate individuals for their service with BCFR. Individuals are awarded in several categories such as Life Saving, Meritorious Service, and Annual Service Awards. View the Annual Award Results here.

Brevard County Professional Firefighters
Working alongside Brevard County Fire Rescue, are the professional firefighters. The Brevard County Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 2969, are an organized group of District Chiefs, firefighters, inspectors, and dispatchers dedicated to maintaining a high standard of care to the citizens of Brevard County.
