Property ReviewsIf you are thinking of purchasing vacant land, consider taking advantage of our property review. This service will provide an analysis of the property using natural resource maps in our Office. The analysis will provide information on whether the property may have wetlands, floodprone areas, aquifer recharge areas, protected wildlife, whether you are subject to coastal or surface water regulations. This is a preliminary assessment based on environmental maps available to the NRMO at the time of this review and does not include a site inspection to verify the accuracy of this information. This review does not ensure whether or not a proposed use or development of the property can be permitted under current Federal, State or local regulations and ordinances. Due to our limited staff and current workload, it will take approximately 30 calendar days to conduct this service. Preliminary Wetland DeterminationsIf you think you may have wetlands on your residential property and need the boundaries marked for surveying, you may want to consider having a wetland determination conducted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. This service is free of charge and will mark the boundaries of any wetlands present. You may contact them at (407)894-7555. There is only one staff person available for wetland determinations for Brevard County so the determination may take 8 weeks or longer. You may also hire a qualified environmental professional to conduct this wetland determination. A list of qualified environmental professionals is available from this Office or click here. If you only need to determine whether or not wetlands are present, you may request this service from the Natural Resources Management Office. This service is performed for a fee and the application form may be downloaded here. Due to our limited staff and current workload, there may be a delay of up to four months to conduct this service. |
