AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY Code enforcement is a function within the Permitting and Enforcement Department. Staff is this section investigates complaints on violations of the Zoning, Solid Waste, Marine Turtle Lighting, and Overgrowth of weeds and grass codes.
EMERGENCY CONTACT If our office is closed and the activity you want to report may cause environmental damage or create a safety concern, don't hesitate to immediately call Brevard County Emergency Management (321) 637-6670. Someone is on duty after hours to receive emergency complaints and route them to the proper agency.
COMPLAINT HANDLING/PRIORITIZATION All complaints are processed in the order they are received. However; complaints are prioritized according to their impact on the environment and public safety. The most significant impacts may be investigated first. Therefore; the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide may affect the time it takes to investigate your complaint. Please be specific and complete as possible when filing your complaint.
JURISDICTION For property located within a city, and not in unincorporated Brevard County, you will need to contact that specific city. The jurisdiction of Brevard County Code Enforcement extends only to property located in the unincorporated areas of Brevard County.
