Advisory Board: Formed February, 2000.
Mandated By: County Commission Resolution.
Primary Goal: To create and sustain a community that accommodates, supports, and values aging.
Membership: 15 members and alternates representing aging services and the elder population.
Accomplishments:

Coordinated Brevard Countywide effort to be designated "Communities for a Lifetime"
(CFAL) by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA).

- Awarded CFAL grant to implement "Fall Prevention Program" countywide.
- Public Safety Announcements -
educating seniors about money handling and telemarketing scams.
- Advocate for local and state funding for public guardianship services.
- Improve transportation process countywide cross walk and signage improvements.
- Planning staff to implement measurable goals and objectives for Brevard County's growing senior population.
- Over 200 seniors received a Florida ID during Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW Mobile) events.
