At this 25-acre community park tucked away just south of SR-50, visitors discover
a natural Florida forest offering three distinct woodland habitats: a wetland area,
hardwood hammock and upland pine forest. With its sandy nature trail and towering
trees, the park is home to native plant and animal life so that visitors get a sense
of the natural frontier. A short boardwalk leads across the wetland from the rustic
Homer Powell Nature Center to the half-mile trail. A picnic area with grill is located
in an open grassy area with the scenic wetland nearby.
Center Hours:
Open after sunrise until dusk, except for scheduled use.
