• Married to my beautiful wife, Kristine, with six children
• Active in several organizations within the community
• Raised in Eau Gallie Florida my entire life
• Served in the United States Army from 1977-1999
• Assigned in various capacities to include but not limited to the, Military Police, 82nd Airborne Division, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1/29th Bravo Rangers, 1/58th Patriots, Drill Sergeant, Jump Master, Recruiting Command…etc. I also served in several regions of the World such as North Africa, Middle East, Europe as well as numerous locations in the United States
• Graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors in Public Administration
• Worked as Chief Operations Officer for a major corporation in the Mid-West
• Worked for the Board of County Commissioners as the Captain of Animal Services
• Owned and operated two small successful businesses in Brevard County
• Worked for the Clerk of the Courts, Scott Ellis
• Hosted my own Radio Show for more than four years on a local radio station

Dr. Matthew Collins earned his Ph.D. in public management from Virginia Tech in 2003 and his Master of Public Administration degree (MPA) and undergraduate degree at the Doug Wilder School of Government at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998 and 1996 respectively.
Early in his career, Dr. Collins worked in the field of public administration as a Community Corrections Officer with the Henrico County, VA Sheriff's Office, as a Police Officer with the Town of Ocean City, Maryland, and as a Project Manager for the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. More recently, Dr. Collins served as Deputy County Administrator with Alleghany County, VA, County Administrator with Craig County, VA, as a full-time faculty member at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and as a freelance grant writer and consultant for governmental and nonprofit agencies throughout the State of Florida. Currently, Dr. Collins serves as the Senior Policy Analyst for Brevard County, FL Board of County Commissioners District Five Commissioner, Andy Anderson.
Dr. Collins has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals in public administration and emergency management. He has expertise in public policy analysis, grant writing, strategic planning, budgeting, fiscal analysis, local government, and community leadership.

Resident of Florida for 31 years, the past 6 years being in Palm Bay. Served in the United States Army from 1982 – 2002.
Trained in administrative, military police, paralegal and court reporting. Since my retirement from the US Army, I have
worked for the Clerk of Court as a Deputy Court Clerk and 18th Judicial Circuit as a Digital Court Reporter and a Judicial
Assistant for a Circuit Judge.
