Commissioner Chuck Nelson

On November 7, 2006, Chuck Nelson was elected to the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners representing District Two. Commissioner Nelson was a public servant long before his election to the County Board, with over thirty-two years of local government experience.

Prior to his election, Commissioner Nelson served fourteen years as the Director of Brevard County Parks and Recreation—one of the county’s largest departments in staff and budget. His institutional knowledge and commitment to the community have well prepared him for his role as Brevard County Commissioner.

Commissioner Nelson is an avid boater, fisherman, and a member of the Florida Sport Fishing Association. He received a degree in Health Physical Education & Recreation from the University of South Florida. Commissioner Nelson resides on Merritt Island with his wife, Gale.

County Commission District Two includes Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Merritt Island, Cocoa and portions of West Cocoa.
