In 2007, he was presented with the John W. Sterci Award for over 25 years of volunteer service. This is YMCA’s highest honor.

The creation of the North Brevard Economic Development Zone was proposed by Robin Fisher and required approval of the Brevard County Commission and Titusville City Council. Spanning from SR 520 north to the Volusia County line, this is the largest tax increment funding district in the State of Florida and possibly in the Nation. The “Zone” is providing millions of dollars in funding to help incentivize and recruit high-wage jobs and redevelopment in North Brevard.

Fisher currently serves as the Board Chair for the Brevard County Field of Dreams, a multi-sport park for individuals with special needs. Fisher has been instrumental in raising more than $3 million for the first phase and continues to raise funds with the goal to complete Phase 2 before the end of his term in 2016.

Professionally, Fisher has been an agent with State Farm Insurance Company for the past 26 years. During his tenure with State Farm, his accomplishments have been numerous. Among them are awards for production and service. He has been awarded with the Legion of Honor Qualifier, the Crystal Excellence Award and is a distinguished member of the National Convention Qualifier President’s Club. He has owned a State Farm Insurance agency in Titusville since 1989.

Fisher’s early life included relocating to Brevard County in 1971. Upon his graduation from Satellite High School in 1978, he attended the University of Florida on an athletic scholarship. Robin set the record for the only defensive lineman to lead the entire Gator defensive team for most tackles in one season; a record he still holds today. In 1982 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. Later, he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins and went on to play professional football in the USFL with the Chicago Blitz as well as the Arizona Wranglers.

Robin has been a resident of Titusville since 1989. He and his wife, Rhoda, have been married for 27 years and have two adult children, Cara and Cory.
