The creation of the North Brevard Economic Development Zone was proposed by Robin Fisher and required approval of the Brevard County Commission and Titusville City Council. Spanning from SR 520 north to the Volusia County line, this is the largest tax increment funding district in the State of Florida and possibly in the Nation. The “Zone” is providing millions of dollars in funding to help incentivize and recruit high-wage jobs and redevelopment in North Brevard.
Fisher currently serves as the Board Chair for the Brevard County Field of Dreams, a multi-sport park for individuals with special needs. Fisher has been instrumental in raising more than $3 million for the first phase and continues to raise funds with the goal to complete Phase 2 before the end of his term in 2016.
Professionally, Fisher has been an agent with State Farm Insurance Company for the past 26 years. During his tenure with State Farm, his accomplishments have been numerous. Robin set the record for the only defensive lineman to lead the entire Gator defensive team for most tackles in one season; a record he still holds today. In 1982 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations.
